When should I apply for scholarships?

Most full-funding scholarships open 10–12 months before intake and close 6–9 months before. Start your shortlist as soon as you decide on a target country. Late applicants get nothing.

Can I apply for multiple scholarships at once?

Yes, and you should. The acceptance rate of any single full-funding scholarship is low (often under 5%); shortlisting 6–8 realistic ones gets you a meaningful chance.

Do I need to wait for university admission first?

Depends on the scholarship. DAAD and Chevening require admission letters for some streams; others are independent. We map the dependency graph so you sequence applications correctly.

Section 1

DAAD — Germany

DAAD is the German government's scholarship agency. Two scholarships matter for Indian Master's applicants: WISE (summer research internship for engineering students) and the Development-related Postgraduate Courses (full Master's funding for selected universities). Both are competitive — DAAD funds roughly 100–200 Indian applicants per year per stream — but they cover tuition, living costs, insurance, and a return flight.

Vanier & Trudeau — Canada

Vanier CGS funds 166 doctoral students per year at CAD 50,000/year for 3 years. Trudeau Foundation funds 15–25 PhD students focused on social sciences and humanities. Both require nomination from your university — we help you find programs where the university actively nominates international students, not just Canadians.

Chevening — UK

Chevening is the UK Foreign Office's flagship scholarship — full Master's funding, monthly stipend, travel, visa fees. Two years of post-undergraduate work experience is usually required. India is one of the largest Chevening recipient countries (60–90 awards per year). The four 500-word essays are everything; we run a 4-week essay coaching program timed to the August deadline.

Australia Awards & ERASMUS

Australia Awards target development-sector candidates from specific countries — India is currently not a target country, but country-specific scholarships at individual Australian universities (Adelaide Global Citizens Scholarship, Monash International Merit) are realistic and we'll match you to ones aligned with your profile. ERASMUS+ Joint Master Degrees fund multi-country EU programs — 1,500+ awards per year, India is a major source country.
